Jim has been involved with pigeons since the age of 10.
His introduction to pigeons came about from the roadies nesting on the council buildings in Sydney. He flew his first races
with the old Manly Warringah Pigeon Club in Sydney Australia, in the early sixties.
In his teenage years, he had the
odd success in a very strong club of pigeon flyers, this gave him the grounding for future succeses.
He returned to
the sport after a 20 year absence flying with the Townsville Club where he was a successful flyer and Club president. He moved
to the Gympie district and flew many successful races with the Gympie Racing Pigeon Club.
Some of his achievements
include Champion Flyer, Long & Short Distance Club Winners. This lead him to stretch his wings further afield and try
his hand in One Loft Racing.
His first venture was the Mallee Classic held in Victoria, Australia. Although not winning
the Mallee, his achievement s include the Peter Munro Memorial Silver Plate and in 2006 Winner of the Gold Cup with a Blue
Check Cock.
After developing his love for One Loft Racing, Jim has subsequently participated in the Adelaide Pigeon
Club One Loft Race, the Taree invitation One Loft Race, Mallee Classic and the Sun City Million Dollar Pigeon Race.
His
best for the Sun City Race include averaging 216 in the hot spot races.Jim enjoys this challenge and looks forward to the
thrill and excitment of competing when his own race season has ended.
Jim is currently breeding his selected variety
of birds for the next years racing season.
